After reading “How I Got My Attention Back”, I realized that I spend a good majority of my time on technology, and every once in a while, I think it is really beneficial to take a break. I have realized over the years that I have become more and more say addicted to social media, looking at all these pictures, and watching so many videos.

TikToks has gotten to be the worse for me, I can’t tell you how many times I have sat down to take a break telling myself “just a couple” and then three hours later I’m still scrolling fascinated by these six second videos. But what really got my attention were these portals that they take you down. You would like a video and then all of a sudden you’re on “Harry Potter TikTok” or “BookTok” and all I can think of is “how the heck did I get here?” I think the same works for all media, they circulate which ones you like and then bash you with more and more and you just keep walking down the tunnel.

But in recent events, we have had to be accustomed to the fact that technology is making an increasing impact on our lives especially since we have had to make the shift towards online schooling. Because of this I think it is essential to spend some time away from the screen in order to reorient your thoughts and to probably take in some actual light.
